Heliae^® Announces Key Associates Promotions

Melissa Spencer appointed to Director of Operations and Kevin Kolar appointed to Director of Facilities

Heliae, a food and ag tech company that is 100% engaged in creating microbial-based products that can be used to change the world announced two recent promotions and restructure to the operations team.

Melissa Spencer, a 20-year laboratory veteran with quality, continuous improvement and management experience was promoted to Director of Operations.

Kevin Kolar, a military veteran and 26-year facilities engineer was promoted to Director of Facilities.

We have seen Melissa and Kevin demonstrate consistent performance and exceptional readiness for new assignments, I am excited about how our team is aligning in our journey in creating sustainable impact through microalgae.”

Spencer joined Heliae in 2013 and received a BS in Microbiology. Kolar has been with Heliae since 2015 and received a BSEE in Electrical Engineering.

“I believe this new structure can take us to new heights and new innovations,” said Mike LaMont, Vice President of Operations of Heliae. Along with the director level promotions, Alex Sitek was made Sr. Manager Process Innovation and Luke Cizek, Manager Research and Innovation.
