24 Nov Helping Growers Rethink Soil Productivity, Understanding Key Enablers and Leveraging the Soil Biome
An audience of over 900 registrants came together on November 17th and 18th to learn about soil health strategies and farm trial results from a variety of regions during Heliae® Agriculture’s two-day virtual event “Rethinking Soil Productivity.”
The event featured two main morning sessions and six afternoon breakout sessions spread out over two days, with a focus placed on soil health, regenerative agriculture and the soil health benefits that come from the incorporation of the specialized microalgae. On day one, guest speaker Dr. James White, renowned plant pathologist at Rutgers University, spoke with Norm Davy, Chief Revenue Offer at Heliae® Agriculture and Dr. Karl Wyant, VP of Ag Science at Heliae® Agriculture on a discussion around Dr. White’s work on the Rhizophagy Cycle and the important plant-microbe relationships he and his team continue to research.
“This is one of the best webinars I have seen all year,” said Robin Ross, co-owner at AgNexus Consulting. Speaking about the discussion with Dr. White, she added: “Excellent discussion on the actual mechanics that occur between the roots and microbes. The relationship is even more complicated than I thought!”
Day two featured the Heliae® Agriculture science, research and sales team coming together for an in-depth discussion focused on the creation of a healthy soil biome. The team took a deeper look at the multitude of benefits that come from improving soil, shared the timeline of the PhycoTerra® Soil Amendment team’s research and discovery, and the efficacy and return on investment a regenerative approach brings to any farming operation.
“These conversations around regenerative agriculture and soil health are what we are all about at Heliae® Agriculture,” said Norm Davy, Chief Revenue Officer at Heliae® Agriculture. “We’re proud that we were able to offer this robust event focused on supporting growers with tried and true strategies in soil health.”
Both days featured three breakout sessions focused on diverse regions throughout the United States and Canada, including a session held entirely in Spanish with crop data from the United States and South America. These sessions showcased regional PhycoTerra® trial results and the soil health benefits that every soil type can gain from the incorporation of this specialized microalgae. All sessions featured a dedicated live Q&A segment that allowed viewers to submit questions to the panels of professionals for real-time answers.
“We really want to thank those who joined us for this extremely successful webinar series event,” said Heliae President and CEO, Eric Lichtenheld. “We are proud to support growers with returns that deliver more than yield by focusing on governing healthy, productive soils. These are the principles in which Heliae® Agriculture continues to invest time, money and research—building a product portfolio that delivers value far beyond the growing season.”
